Milky Eyed Gaming and Gauze Wraps

Reviving and renaming and just putting thoughts down about my history of gaming. It comes down a lot to meeting with old friends and discussing games we played. Not in the sense of remembering when we played Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in general but the specifics of the time we bested Groorg in the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun or the game of Vampire the Masquerade when Keith drove by a crime scene (the troupe had created) with his Ventrue character and laughing at the police on scene advising them loudly they'd never solve the crime and the ensuing car chase that ended in lots of use of dominate that I let go because I was so very tired of the scene in general as it was taking the spotlight away from the group.

My friends generally respond with the milky eye as I call it. Usually the best they can remember is that we did play a certain game in general but the specifics are lost. I find it odd that the gaming sessions and stories stuck with me so vividly and faded out of existence with practically everyone else. I guess the social interactions were just that important to me that they remained. I suppose part of the restart of the blog is to just put the stories down as I remember them and possibly inspire me to try to create some new stories.

That said, the first game of AD&D was surprising in that I played after that first session.

Johnny brought over some books and a green folder with some strange art on it. It showed a green skeleton conjuring some spell against a wizard of some kind. Johnny was a teenager and I was about nine so he was humoring me in the first place I guess. We went through the process of generating a level 14 magic user and he was generous with magic items and I was reading through all these spells and prepared for a great adventure! And then I opened the doors in the first false entrance of the dungeon and the ceiling fell on me and I died. Alas, that was not the end of the story but I'll pick it up later.
